ABC notation is a text-based music notation system originally developed for folk and traditional music. However, the plain text representation of musical events make it ideal for manipulation and mangalation using computer programmes (e.g. Visual Basic), spreadsheets, etc.
ABC Notation Software Packages
ABC notation is supported by a number of software packages across a number of platforms. Many of the ABC notation editing packages support saving ABC notation as MIDI files, thereby allowing the music to be imported into the DAW of your dreams.
